Qualities and Advantages of GrowCover
GrowCover and GrowCover HD is knitted from thin, but amazingly strong, high density UV
stabilized polyethylene thread (see picture below). Despite its light weight it is extremely strong and with
normal use will protect your plants for many years. The
manufacturer claims up to eight years for both GrowCover and GrowCover HD. VeggiePatch first bought a piece of GrowCover in 2005. It has been used continuously in the garden and is still as effective as when new.
It is very easy to handle as
it is light in weight - GrowCover is only 35 grams per square metre and GrowCover HD, a heavier duty fabric of 80 gm per square metre. Accessing your plants is a breeze. Just unclip the fabric from the frame of
your hoop tunnel or tent and lift it up. Anyone can do it, it is so light.
GrowCover HD is ideal for semi permanent structures and shelters.
It is less stretchy than GrowCover and easier to use for fitted covers on growhouse frames. Rain does not penetrate quite so easily and irrigation under the GrowCover HD is recommended.
GrowCover HD needs to be secured firmly to the frame or ground as it affected more by strong winds because it is a heavier fabric.
