In 2005 we had just moved into our new passive solar home on a rural bush block and started our new organic vegetable garden.

We soon realised we needed to protect the vegetable seedlings from various insect pests and found an insect netting fabric, that promised to do the trick.

We enlarged our veggie patch the next year and used GrowCover for mature plants too. It helped to protect from birds at fruiting time and we grew many varieties of vegetables and herbs. GrowCover saved our plants from damage by strong winds, hail, light frost, birds, kangaroos, dogs, etc.

But why does it work so well?

Every gardener knows that vegetables grow better when damage from insects and bad weather is minimized. Frequently nature isn't too helpful that way. It is too hot, or too dry, or too windy or too cold. So plants have to struggle and contend with insect pests as well.

But GrowCover smoothes out all these problems because it creates a gentle micro-climate. It helps to retain moisture in the soil without causing excessive heat build up or condensation because it allows good air circulation.
